L.A. Blues Party

Without a good drummer, your band sucks. That's just the way it is. Drummers get the least credit, the most grief, and if you don't have a good one, you are up Behind the Beat Creek without a paddle or a drumstick. That's why we have Pete. He makes us good.

L.A. Blues Party drummer and percussionist Pete Gallagher has been a studio and performance artist for 25 years.  He worked with PBS with composer Steve Jay and  even the great "weird" Al Yankovich.  As a kid in the '70's, he did some work with Whitewitch. Today Pete is one of the most interesting and cleanest timekeepers you'll ever hear. There's not one wasted beat in his approach. It all has a purpose and place through shuffles, swings, rhumbas, jazz, two-line, Texas slapback, funk, hyperfunk and delta shimmer. He keeps the volume down and the beat edgy. When you come hear L.A. Blues Party, keep your eyes on Mr. Gallagher.  His playing keeps the time, but it also adds the gotta dance sparkle that really effective bands must have.
